We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of you who allowed us to Pin Up Your Doodle in the name of charity. All doodles received during the open call for submissions were exhibited in the basement of Donkey Wheel House from November 18-21.
Over the course of the four days we had over 1500 visitors to the venue and sold the vast majority of doodles in the general exhibition. We also managed to tip some cash into our coffers with the silent auction generating approximately $1500, while sales of those doodles auctioned at ACCA on November 24 netted us just shy of $6000. All while generating great publicity and allowing people to sample a taste of Shebeen via the pop-up bar located within the exhibition space. The auction was also filmed for an episode of Art Nation to air in February 2011, so stay glued to ABC to see that.

The money and awareness raised will contribute inestimably to the opening of Shebeen's permanent venue in Melbourne early next year. However, it wouldn't have been possible without you, the people that provided the doodles that were at the centre of the event. So again we'd like to thank you for offering up your valuable time and artistic abilities to help out little old us.
Love,
The Shebeen and Pin-Up Your Doodle teams.
